Exploring Art – kindergarten to second grade

Prerequisite: No art experience needed, just an interest to try.

This four day class “Exploring Art “has been developed for young minds wanting to explore creative art concepts. Children who are immersed in art at an early age develop a stronger perceptual awareness of the world around them, laying the foundation for critical thinking skills. The class is project based, uses storytelling and demonstrations to support learning. The aim is to allow students to experiment with various art materials, mediums, strengthening observational skills, further fine motor skills, gain new language, enhance listening skills and follow directions. In this class your student will;

• gain artistic skills and craftsmanship,
• learn of artistic styles, art history and master artists,
• use their imagination and explore the power of self-expression,
• create art in their style using a variety of techniques and safe art media.
